How to Generate leads using Magazine Advertising

I have generated hundreds of leads from advertising in different magazines, using their classified section. Lets say you have an info product that your trying to sell or you joined a business opportunity and you need to generate leads either way magazine advertising is a proven method of advertising and can get you real results. Magazines gives you credibility because the person looking at your ad actually paid money to read what you have to say. Advertising online can’t give you that because people are always being chased down and Spamed trying to get them to look at what their selling, they have a vested interest in that magazine because they paid for it.

Now the bad part about advertising in magazines is that it can cost you a lot of money to be in some of these magazine. Some website take advantage of people who don’t know what it cost to advertise in magazines. Their trying to make money by being a middle man. One of these websites is

www.nationwideadvertising.com. They charge $225.00 for a ten word ad in the entrepreneur magazine when I only pay $136.00 for twelve words, that’s almost a hundred dollars cheaper and with two extra words. That’s not the only magazine they over price their rates, I would not advertise in any of their magazine that’s on their website. I haven’t found anyone who can beat their rates and if you pay for two consecutive months the third one is free. Now display advertising is a whole different ball game, It’s a little better than classifieds because you have more space to get your message out there. You can do a 1-3 inch ad, I personally do one inch ads because you can fit up to forty five words in a one inch and I really don’t need anymore space than that. AS far as content goes that really depends on what you are selling. The majority of people who advertise in magazines are selling business opportunities.

The technique that is most people use is they would have a splash page made that would be the same design as their ad in the magazine so when the prospect goes to their display ad to the website their is no confusion. I personally don’t do that, I’m not saying that it doesn’t work I just prefer to keep my splash page the same as every one else on my team, the simpler the better. The display ads I create consist of mostly words, I’m not a big fan of fancy pictures or anything like that. Writing ads can be difficult for some people, I don’t really have a problem with content writing myself I think my reading habit is to thank for that. 

When I’m doing my ad I always feature a benefit of a emotional tie in, like for example your selling a business opportunity, in your ad you could share an experience you had at your pervious job that lead you to start your own business, something that you are emotionally attached to. It really comes down to how the person feels when he or she reaches your website and if you touched them emotionally with your story they will fell like what your selling is the solution to their problem and people buy solutions not the amazing product that your selling.
