Thursday Night Magazine Set to Launch
May 18, 2009 — A new magazine that will take readers in Canada, the USA and the UK on a sophisticated and urbane adventure will officially launch on Thursday evening, June 4, 2009.
Thursday Night Magazine (www.thursdaynightmagazine.com) will arouse readers in every sense as the worldly publication will provide a tactful edginess in the life of crime, politics, power, sex, arts and entertainment, and style and design. The magazine will also offer readers fiction stories, and essays on compelling issues that encompass life in Canada, the USA and UK.
The publication, which will lure in an audience of professional and educated like minds from diverse backgrounds, will be like no other: controversial in one sense, yet at the same time candid and engaging. In all, its stories will capture the truth for its readers seeking a real insight to fascinating people, places and things.
The magazine will be published every two months online, and on Thursday evening of each week, stories and blogs will be regularly updated for its readers. The publication will also be available on Kindle, which is Amazon’s new wireless reading device. The number of readers turning to Kindle — a new technological phenomenon — for books, newspapers and magazines continues to grow in popularity. Thursday Night Magazine will be one of only 30 magazines available through this high-tech marvel. While the magazine will remain online to reduce its carbon footprint and in follow the trend of online readers, the editors will soon announce a “Special Collectors Issue of Thursday Night Magazine” in print once a year starting in late 2010. This one time issue will only be printed on a per order basis and will contain all the top stories over the duration of one year.
The publication will enthrall readers, according to Paul Fitzgerald, who is the President and CEO of Salt & Pepper Media Inc. He will also serve as the Senior Editor/Publisher of Thursday Night Magazine.
“We have the most talented pool of writers and photographers from Canada, the USA and the UK who will be contributing to our magazine,” says Fitzgerald. “If you are looking for a sound magazine that reveals the truth with a douse of classy-sophisticated-satire, then we’re the publication you’ll want to be checking out.”
“These are exciting times and all of us — the editors, writers, photographers and graphic designers — are thrilled to be launching a new magazine, one with a purpose and one that will most importantly entertain while at the same time educate,” adds Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald says that Thursday night is a popular evening in Canada, the USA and the UK for people to socialize. This is why he that he came up with the name Thursday Night Magazine.
“Thursday Night for many is the last night of the work week, and it’s a time where people go out for dinner, attend shows, concerts, and sporting events. It’s even a night where people gather to mingle over drinks and coffee – it’s indeed a social night. We want to connect with it and deliver on its meaning in every sense,” says Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald indicates that while Thursday Night Magazine is poised for tremendous growth, it is also committed to giving back to others.
Five percent of the publication’s advertising revenue will go towards the creation of three scholarships for journalism students (undergraduate and graduate) in Canada, the USA and the UK. As revenue grows, more scholarships will be awarded accordingly. Details of scholarship awards will be posted online when Thursday Night Magazine is officially launched.
“The cost of tuition is always rising in these three countries, so we want to lend a hand and help our future journalists of tomorrow,” says Fitzgerald.
The first issue will include good news stories on the economy, environmental crimes, and interviews with a variety of economists, politicians, among others. Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood and former adult movie star Raylene also give exclusive interviews for the premiere launch of Thursday Night Magazine. Laura Nurse, International Model, Charles Bronson, UK bank robber who is in prison for life, and Susan Boyle, poor singer from Scotland now gone famous, are just a handful of other stories included in the magazine. As well, Noam Chomsky, widely acclaimed academic and author, gives a one on one interview on his thoughts about Gaza and US foreign policy.
